4 April Handy Billy fire pump work. 1. Steve & John checking Ramp room port side for original location. Riser for water is still there. 2. mounting base. 3. grinding to bare steel to weld. 4. Welding. 5. Cleanup is part of the job. 6. painting 7. Restored pump arrives. 8. Final assembly 9. In place, next to the hatch for the Bosun locker. Pipe to left is the original water siphon. This is a 60 gallon pump and could be used to fight fires or transfer fuel from tank to tank. Gasoline for the fire pumps is stored on a quick jettison stand on the fantail.
