Bridge City Beacon

At 10:56 Wednesday evening Portland Fire & Rescue was dispatched to a report of smoke coming from a residence. The report was made by a neighbor who saw smoke coming from an exterior door. Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from an upstairs bedroom. Crews made entry with hose lines and found that smoke and fire had spread beyond the bedroom on the second floor of the residence. Additional responders were sent to assist with the fire attack and were able to contain it to the second floor. One person was taken to Emanuel Hospital with burn injuries. Fire investigators are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of this fire.
