Merry Christmas Main Streets! Portland’s iconic streetcar main streets are packed with small mom and pop shops, great local restaurants, pubs, vintage theaters and classic multifamily housing, providing a mix of authentic localism we keep coming back to. Shaped by our streetcars, they are filled with wonderful artful historic architecture, and their diversity of offerings have something for everyone. Our unique main streets define Portland’s close-in residential and commercial pattern areas, providing “third spaces” for locals, a draw for tourism, and make 20-minute walkable neighborhoods possible. Portland’s main streets certainly are the gift that keeps giving! Sending happy holiday wishes to all and good wishes for more time together in 2026 “down on Main Street”.
