This piece was inspired by one of the most heartbreaking and uplifting books I’ve ever read. Written by Chris Lockhart and Daniel Mulilo Chama, the story revolves around the lives and struggles of street children in Lusaka, Zambia. Walking the bowl means passing along small acts of kindness. I also took it to mean embracing our shared humanity, holding onto hope, and acting solidarity in the face of impossible odds.
