requiem for a h***h
Built from salvaged lumber during COVID times, the Rivers Ridge h***h sat high on the Washington side of the Columbia river. It had a functioning kitchen and a sweet bedroom suite with a killer view of Mt. Hood and far upriver.
The Burdoin fire started along highway 14, just below the property. Robert, the owner, was taking a nap in the main house, and awakened by the smell of smoke. Looking outside, he saw a conflagration...everywhere. He gathered his things, and bolted out of there just before the house was engulfed in flames.
he helped neighbors defend their properties, and returned to the blackened property. The latter pics are what he saw. Lost the main house and the h***h, but was spared the new cottage and shop.
