I love doing a palette shift on highlighted hair - it’s already pre-lightened for its next look!

💛 ➡️ 🧡

For this client, I was able to take our progressive blond - that I had already warmed with a previous gold tint highlight - and apply a gentle copper gloss deposit formula for all this stunning depth and reflection.

🪞This is another example of the endless range of edits that are possible with a little pre-lightening magic - we can do layers of this rich copper and then seamlessly transition back to highlights.

💁🏻‍♀️What if I told you that wearing your natural silver was an opportunity for fun, ease, and expression? What if I showed you?

Let’s go to the photos, shall we? Here are 8 different expressions of natural silver:

1️⃣This client was growing out a strawberry blond box dye, which was easy to lift and tone to a perfect silver that vertically blended her natural silver as it grew out.

2️⃣This client wears her natural silver with extra flair! We just added a panel of warm brown and a panel of chocolate brown to break up the visual palette a bit! 🏆

3️⃣This client has the most gorgeous natural silver; we like to brighten it with gentle highlights and then we can tone it whatever watercolor tone we want. This was our vanilla cream phase🍦

4️⃣This is one of my favorite ways to float the natural silver idea into color-treated hair - grow out a panel of the natural silver and keep coloring the rest! You are still a color client but your touchups are farther apart because this relaxes the appearance of the growout line. How amazing are these silver bangs? 💎

5️⃣Vivids balayage, anyone? With this technique, both the natural silver and the candy-colored ends get to be the star of the show! I love doing the seamless transition in this ombré from natural silver to pink purple! 🍭

6️⃣This is a perfect example of augmenting the natural lights and darks present in silvering hair - more brightness, more shadow, some play with tones - all with zero growout stress 🌸

7️⃣This client has some silver moving into her natural dark brown hair and we love it - we want to see more! So we make more, and the added brightness is still such a lovely soft contrast 🌙

8️⃣When this client started her journey away from permanent root color, we got such excellent visual results by creating a middle color for the contrast - the natural silver gets a break from being that bright light next to the natural dark hair. We aren’t creating “coverage”, we are tricking the eye by softening contrast! 💖

If you’re still reading this far, you win! Thank you for coming to my little silver blending presentation 😆
