Tonight is the night!
Black Music Month at the Abbey starts right here, right now. We're so excited to open the series with The Legends Music Showcase, a night dedicated to the artists who built Portland's music scene. Norman Sylvester is here with the Norman Sylvester Band, the PDX Jazz All-Stars, the Legendary Beyons, and Grammy-nominated Julianne Johnson. All that talent on one stage, in one night.
With Yugen Rashad hosting and Paul Nauls and Calvin Walker as emcees, you know you're going to hear some stories tonight!
See you here soon.

Tonight at The Abbey we're honored to welcome an event that's very close to our hearts. Put on your most bodacious outfit and join us for Blonde Aid: Dance For Democracy. This is an all-out 80s benefit concert where every dollar from ticket sales supports the Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition 💜
PIRC is a grassroots Portland organization that keeps a 24/7 hotline active, provides legal support, and mobilizes volunteers to protect immigrant families throughout Oregon. These are our neighbors, the people whose presence, culture, and contributions make our city richer every single day.
Featured entertainment includes: Blonde Neon, The Wanna Be-52’s, DEVOtees, and DJ NoN (Decadent 80's). Tickets available online or at the door!

It's the first Thursday of the month which means it's time, once again, for our beloved Open Mic Night! Come on out to The Abbey to support some of the best local artists as they share their material on our main stage.
All ages and experience levels are welcome, all we ask is that you bring your creativity and support!
We also have an important update, for the next two months our open mic will be on the SECOND Thursday - then the original schedule will resume. Check our calendar at www.albertaabbey.org for any updates!

In case you missed it (or just want to relive the magic), John Nilsen & SWIMFISH turned April 4th into one for the ages right here at The Abbey! It was the official release show for their beautiful new album The Future of the Past, and the band really brought their all to the celebration.
A huge thank-you to John and all of SWIMFISH for choosing The Abbey for such a milestone night and for sending over these incredible photos.
If you were there, leave your favorite moment in the comments. If you weren’t… well, now you know what you missed. Grab the new record and catch them next time!
