Caldera Arts

We recently welcomed our March cohort of artists to Caldera: Rowena Alegria, Lorena Diosdado, Eleanor Klock, Kache’ Mumford, and Victoria Xiao.

During their residency, the artists explored themes of memory, identity, belonging, and inheritance across writing, painting, ceramics, and mixed media.

Rowena continued work on a long-developing novel. Lorena painted imagery inspired by her culture and personal history onto old curtains from her home. Eleanor created comics centered on her dating experiences in Portland. Kache’ wrote poems for a debut collection rooted in sound and resistance. Victoria experimented with forms for a ceramic burial suit exploring landscape and memory.

Outside the studio, the group shared meals, watched films, and spent time on the land. What begins here continues beyond Caldera.

Announcing Spring 2026: FEE BASED ARTIST RESIDENCY (FAiR) at Caldera

Join us this spring and invest in your creative time. Residents receive private lodging, dedicated studio space, and welcome & farewell community dinners prepared by local chefs.

Revenue from FAiR directly supports Caldera’s other residency and youth programs. We also continue to offer a stipended residency designed for artists from historically underrepresented populations.
