The word "upcycling" gets thrown around a lot, but here's what it actually means and why it matters for your drink.

♻️ Recycling takes something used and reprocesses it into something of the same or lesser value.
⬆️ Upcycling takes something that would otherwise leave the food chain entirely and transforms it into something of HIGHER value.

That's exactly what we do with Wheyward Spirit. Whey, a high-quality coproduct of cheesemaking, is upcycled into premium craft spirits before it ever becomes food waste. Then we go a step further by aging Wheyward Wheyskey in upcycled oak barrels instead of new ones.
