We're getting to the end of pride month, but that doesn't mean we're going to stop celebrating our LGBTQIA+ community! We're so incredibly proud and thankful to our alumni, staff, campers who identify as part of the community (out or not) and want to recognize how much they have brought to our camp community by being who they are. You will always have a place at Camp Namanu 🏳️🌈

Say hello to some of your Program Specialists! From the climbing wall to arts & crafts to waterfront adventures, they help create the experiences campers look forward to all year long. ☀️
We asked them a few questions and here are their responses:
What’s one thing you’ve made that you’re really proud of?
Moth: I’ve made a few somewhat complicated friendship bracelets for friends that I’m super proud of.
S: I’ve constructed a lot of lesson plans. I also sew.
Mizu: I finished my first quilt this year and I’m very proud of that!
Q: I wrote and directed a play with my friends about the reality of Instagram Reels, Family Guy, and Subway Surfers.
N: One thing I’ve made that I’m really proud of is a greenhouse I built for my mom on Mother’s Day.
What books/movies/games never get old to you?
Moth: I LOVEEE Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. When I was really little, I used to have it loop on my DVD player.
S: Toontown!
Mizu: I never get tired of the Lord of the Rings movies, or playing Stardew Valley.
Q: Peter Weiss’ seminal play The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton under the Director of the Marquis de Sade. Alternatively, Pikmin 3.
N: A movie that never gets old is Grown Ups 2.
