Benson Robotics celebrating Syttende Mai, Norwegian constitution day! Come visit us @ 111 NE 11th!

Come on down and join us today for the annual Syttende Mai Norwegian Constitution Day parade! Our sponsors Sons of Norway Grieg Lodge invite us a march along with them every year and it is one of our favorite outreach events. The parade starts at 3:00 at 111 NE 11th, come celebrate our school's founder Simon Benson by marching with us!

The first ever Portland unofficial Soccer World Cup was held last weekend at Benson High School. Two teams from Madison HS, two teams from Wilson HS, and four teams from Benson HS competed for an awesome trophy. Team Purple Milk from Wilson won the World Cup in a spirited face off with their sister team from Wilson, Dwayne “The Bot” Johnson. Thank you to all teams that participated. Double the field equals double the fun!

Join us this Friday for a fun FTC Soccer World Championship match with our friends from Madison and Wilson High Schools. We made a 12 x 24 foot field and modified our robots to play 2 on 2 soccer. We will be in the Benson HS band room May 8 4-7 (competition is supposed start around 5).

Thank you to everyone who supported Benson this weekend! Sponsors, volunteers, family members and team mates, we had a long and rewarding weekend helping host the State Championship Tournament. While none of our teams will be moving on this year, we had a great time at the competition!

There were lots of volunteers early on Sunday so we want to give an extra special super-duper shout-out to Extracto Coffee Roasters who provided coffee for the volunteers --they got up extra early on DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME DAY to brew fresh coffee for us. We can't thank them enough for their support and delicious coffee! Extracto Coffee Roasters you are our heroes!
