This is what we have to deal with out there on the mean (and pretty empty) streets of Portland, people! First these fine folks support their local brewery by buying a BOATLOAD of beer. Then they have the audacity to 'thank us' and offer a snack, or a mask and even some TP. Can you believe how NICE people are?…WE LOVE YOU PORTLAND!!

With the current COVID-19 crisis, we wanted to share a story with you:
This illustration depicts Portland's famous Henry Weinhard Brewing in 1908. The company had just remodeled it's brewery and purchased several buildings in NW Portland. At it's peak, the Henry's produced over 100,000 barrels of beer a year and exported it all over the world. They had just signed a 30 year lease to start brewing in San Franciso in 1914, when Oregon passed prohibition. Overnight, everything changed.
Due to the recent COVID-19 crisis, we can relate to how Henry Weinhard's must have felt. On March 14th, we shut down BeerQuest Walking Tours for the safety of our tour guides and customers.
While most breweries simply shut their doors, Henry Weinhards did not give up. They persevered. They started brewing the now famous Henry's Root Beer and Vanilla Cream sodas. When prohibition finally ended, they reopened and continued brewing beer for another 100 years.
We are inspired by this story and in the spirit of Henry Weinhard, we are working hard during this crisis. We are updating and improving our existing tours, researching new stories (like this one) and even working on a NEW tour. We will reopen and continue sharing our favorite Portland stories as soon as its safe to do so. We can't wait to get back to doing what we love.
If you are able, we would very much appreciate your support during this rough patch. Here are two ways you can help:
