We mourn the passing of Julie Diamond, a gadol of our community, who led the Oregon Jewish Community Foundation for years and served as president of Jewish Theatre Collaborative in its final years of production. May her memory - one of joyous and collaborative community building - be forever a blessing. Our hearts are with her family, may they find comfort among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

Our final participant in the panel was Salah Ansary, a refugee from Kabul, Afghanistan who brought his family to the states and has committed his professional life, more than 30 years, to the resettlement of immigrants in the NW with Lutheran Community Services. Displacement, fractured families, Immigration at once an act of survival and of sacrifice by parents for the sake of their children, their children's' future. . Over 60 million displaced globally, more than 21 displaced outside their country of origin. And due to budget cuts, Lutheran Community Services NW had to cut a quarter of their regional workforce.
