Butterfly Dream Tea
Refreshment from the botanical realms.
Fresh-brewed Moroccan Mint Green Tea forms the foundation of this enchanting iced tea, bringing cool garden mint and delicate green tea notes inspired by the tea traditions of North Africa. Real yuzu juice, a prized citrus from East Asia, adds a bright burst of sunshine with flavors somewhere between mandarin, grapefruit, and lemon.
Finished with butterfly pea flower, a tropical blossom cherished throughout Southeast Asia for its mesmerizing sapphire-blue hue, Butterfly Dream Tea is a refreshing botanical escape that feels as magical as it looks.

Meet Chlorophytum 'Orange Glow'
Also known as the Mandarin Plant, Fire Flash, or Green Orange Spider Plant, this eye-catching beauty is a tropical cousin of the classic Spider Plant.
Native to the forest understories of East Africa, it evolved beneath a canopy of trees where it receives bright, filtered light. Its glossy green leaves emerge from brilliant orange stems that seem to glow from the center of the plant.
Care is wonderfully simple:
☀️ Bright indirect light
💧 Water when the top inch of soil feels dry
🌡️ Average household temperatures and humidity
One of our favorite things about 'Orange Glow' is that it offers the look of a rare collector plant while remaining surprisingly easy to care for.
Now available at Q***r Plants Cafe.

Field Journal – Day 501
Citadel of Soursong, Realm of the Tamarind Canopy
I arrived beneath the royal tamarind groves as preparations were underway for the Feast of Eternal Bloom, the sacred celebration honoring Queen Zalivara of the Sunken Throne.
Throughout Plantazia, tamarind is forbidden for most of the year. Only during the feast may the fruit be consumed openly. The people call this observance the Tamarind Taboo.
"It is not merely tradition," a steward warned me.
"It is protection."
Above the grove, an owl watched from the branches.
"That is the animus of the Tamarind Watcher," whispered an orchard keeper named Lysara. "The owl remembers every ceremony... and every broken vow."
That evening, thousands gathered beneath the colossal canopy as musicians filled the ruins with mournful hymns.
At the center of the feast, the sacred draught was prepared:
🌿 Tamarind for awakening
🥜 Roasted peanut essence for strength
🌰 Cashew cream for clarity
☕ Dark root-brew to anchor the spirit
"The draught prolongs life," Lysara murmured.
"But immortality always feeds upon something."
Then a great horn echoed through the canopy.
The owl shrieked.
Every torch flickered.
And somewhere deep beneath the roots of Soursong, something enormous exhaled.
The crowd fell silent.
Behind the shattered throne stood a shadowed figure.
The Tamarind Watcher.
Later, I discovered a broken temple slate buried beneath the roots:
"Those who partake in the Eternal Fruit shall live beyond age... but in return must offer—"
The remainder had been deliberately destroyed.
Back at the café-lab, I carefully translated the ancient rite:
🥭 Tamarind pulp
🥜 Roasted peanut essence
🌰 Cashew cream
☕ Grounding espresso
Bright tartness strikes first, followed by deep roasted warmth and tropical velvet smoothness that lingers mysteriously on the tongue.
A flavor both indulgent...
and forbidden.
Even now, as I finish this journal entry, an owl sits outside the café window.
Watching.

Dear Portland
We never sought to create a plant shop that simply flattens plants into retail objects.
At Q***r Plants Cafe, plants are our makers and friends. We built a space that elevates plants in every way our symbiotic relationships with them have evolved over eons of time.
Here, you can bask in their glow as living sculptures.
Savor them steeped and brewed into your cup.
Relish them woven into nourishing meals.
Inhale their deep fragrances and floral whispers.
Attune to their inner music during our weekly PlantWave Sound Bath.
Marvel as they snap up unsuspecting insects.
Witness them floating serenely on water, dancing through the air, and climbing toward the clouds.
It’s a place where plants can have individual names.
Where the mysteries of their care become accessible through our Plant Care Database.
Thank you, Portland, for voting Q***r Plants Cafe a finalist for Best Plant Shop in Willamette Week’s Best of Portland Readers’ Poll. With your vote, we can continue to elevate plants now and into the future.
We’d be honored to have your vote at:
