Oregon's glaciers are changing fast. In fact, we've already lost 29% of them. And with 2026 bringing Oregon's lowest snowpack on record, this summer offers an incredible opportunity to capture glacier ice while it's more exposed than usual.

The Oregon Glaciers Institute created GlacierTracker, a free app that leads you to designated photo points across the Oregon Cascades. Stand where others stood years — decades — ago, snap a photo, and upload it to help build a living record of how our glaciers are changing over time.

It's one of the easiest ways to turn a day in the mountains into something that lasts far beyond your hike or climb.
