Portland folks: If you have Providence insurance, bad changes are afoot. This switch willl be bad for patients and bad for providers. The only winners are the folks acting as middle people, siphoning money away from care.

I’m not a big fan of petitions, but the information laid out on this one is worth the read.

I hope not to have to stop taking Providence insurance; I accepted abysmal reimbursement for nearly 15 years to serve United Health patients. But with the changes we’re expecting from Providence, I and many of my colleagues may have to cancel our contracts. And even paying out of pocket may become tougher for patients.
