One Tail at a Time PDX

Pretending it’s 2016 again and using for its intended purpose: remembering the evening our tiny VIPs got to enjoy a tennis ball cake made specially for them by / at Bone Ball last week.

Not one of them knew the rules of tennis, yet all of them understood cake.

A small but mighty group of puppies — Sand Dollar, Riptide, Waves + Pebbles — will be accepting compliments at our Adoption Center tomorrow, Saturday 5/30, from 2:30-4:30PM!

Worth the Wait List adopters get first puppy-meeting privileges from 2:30-3:30PM.

General public intros will begin after that and run until 4:30PM.

For any little bébés who don’t get adopted, we’ll return to their WTWL interest list.

Whether you’re ready to adopt or just starting to look, meeting them in person is always the fun part.

Best Community Animal Rescue sounds like a fun title...

but to us, it looks like fosters opening their homes at the last minute; donors helping cover the medical care that isn't seen in a Happy Tails photo; and adopters giving dogs the Good Life -- one couch at a time. It looks like our volunteers making New Dog Days happen again and again.

It looks like a whole city deciding these dogs are worth showing up for, because they absolutely are. Every single one them.

We've been nominated for Best Community Animal Rescue in Best of Portland 2026. If you agree with that, cast your vote for us. Because while we don't care about titles, we do care about saving more dogs -- and more exposure means getting to do that.
