People often ask me how long it takes to make a single tree and are suprised when I say it takes a week. This is because we need to do them factory-style in batches for maximum efficiency. Today I figured out that there are 35 steps that go into each one, including sourcing materials.

It makes me happy to make a little mandala of trees before I do the final step which I call Matching Up. That's where I decide which trees go on which bases. Before packing them up and loading the van, I take pictures and communicate with customers who request special orders.
