Portland State Chamber Choir

Tomorrow! The PSU Chamber Choir presents new compositions by PSU faculty, alumni and current students which they will be recording at Skywalker Sound (George Lucas’s recording studio) for an upcoming album. The concert also includes PSU’s Community Chorus and other special guests. [Updated location: St Philip Neri Church]

Join PSU Choirs this Thursday, April 11th as we welcome Finnish choir Akademiska Sångföreningen (Akademen) on their tour of the USA and Canada! They will share selections by Swedish and Finnish composers, as well as works by Samuel Barber. PSU Rose Choir will join them onstage for a very special collaboration! Suggested donation at door.

In recent seasons, the Yale Glee Club’s performances have received rave reviews in the national press, from The New York Times (“One of the best collegiate singing ensembles, and one of the most adventurous…an exciting, beautifully sung concert at Carnegie Hall”) to The Washington Post (“Under the direction of Jeffrey Douma, the sopranos - indeed, all the voices - sang as one voice, with flawless intonation…their treacherous semitones and contrapuntal subtleties became otherworldly, transcendent even”).

And now the Portland State Chamber Choir is thrilled to host them on their first tour to the Pacific Northwest in decades! Both choirs will sing a wide variety of selections on their own and as a combined choir.
