Before gentle parenting this was how “ big feelings “ got handled.

Who can take a guess what year this is from ?!

The fact that so many people believed the joke post from proves just how absurd the current rules and legislation on our waterways have become. It shouldn’t be this easy to convince the public of something so ridiculous—and yet, here we are.

At PDX Wake, we’ve always stood for safety, education, and equal access to Oregon’s waterways. Unfortunately, special interest groups continue to push misleading narratives that cloud the truth—and people keep falling for it.

That satire post? It wasn’t just a joke. It was a mirror. And it shows how far off course this debate has drifted and how divisive our waterways have become and how much hate people have for one another based on a political view.

See you on the water and stay safe no matter what you enjoy while on our amazing waterways.

Let’s get back to facts, fairness, and freedom on the water.

You splash we report …. Finally some law and order on our rivers.

Violators caught splashing without a permit would face a $500 fine, mandatory river etiquette classes, and potential confiscation of their inflatable watercraft.

The legislation also includes funding for a fleet of “River Enforcement Specialists,” or RES units, who will patrol popular float spots to monitor for unsanctioned splashes. Officers will be equipped with waterproof citation printers and GoPro bodycams to document offenses.

🚨 CALL TO ACTION: PROTECT THE WILLAMETTE RIVER! 🚨

The wake boat industry is at it again; this time pushing a dangerous amendment to SB 301 that would gut vital protections for the Newberg Pool—one of the Willamette River’s most treasured and ecologically sensitive areas.

If passed, the SB 301 - 1 amendment (disguised as a wake boat safety study bill) will undo hard-fought safeguards under SB 1589, allowing large wake boats to return to this narrow section of the river, by removing ballast weight from the regulation, once again threatening public safety, water quality, and the fragile habitat of threatened salmon and steelhead, damaging docks, and lowering property values as riverbanks are degraded and channelized through soil erosion.

We can’t let this happen. Our community fought for years to make the Newberg Pool safer and healthier for ALL users—and now it's at risk of being rolled back to benefit a small minority of high-impact boaters.
