So I watched Love is Blind Brazil. One woman received tons of support on social media after her “fiancé” left the experiment after the “reveal” because she was obese. She encouraged teenage girls to embrace obesity and that it makes them “empowered.” During the reunion the men were shamed because of this man’s actions. On the same season, there was a woman who was very clear that she wouldn’t match with someone who drank excessively or smoked, and that was portrayed as admirable. This is a blatant double standard. On the current season, another obese woman (a nutritionist, shocker) has identified herself as obese, a non-traditional body type. Obesity is not a body type any more than liver disease from alcoholism is a “liver type” or emphysema from ni****ne addiction is a “lung type.” Obesity is one of the symptoms of compulsive /addictive behavior with food. I think promoting obesity to young people is a crime.
