Happy Birthday, to this absolute powerhouse!

This is Jess from Health Coaches Stevens Square and she’s celebrating a big birthday this month. Her gift to herself was a DEXA scan, but her real gift? Finding out her biological age is 31—almost 20 years younger than her actual age.

If you know Jess, that result probably doesn’t surprise you. Helping people stay strong, active, and independent isn’t just her job—it’s her passion. Every day, she coaches people to build muscle, improve their fitness, and reduce their risk of frailty as they age. She truly lives what she teaches, and she’s proof that the choices we make today can pay dividends for years to come.

A DEXA scan tells you so much more than the number on the scale. It measures your bone density and body composition—including muscle mass and visceral fat—giving you a clearer picture of how your body is really doing.

If you’ve ever wondered what your own DEXA scan might reveal, we’d love to help. It might be one of the most valuable things you can do for your future health.

Most women don’t realize perimenopause and menopause increases their risk of heart disease.

As your hormones begin to change, so does your body. Your heart health, metabolism, bone health, and many other aspects of your health can all be affected during this transition.

The good news is that you don’t have to wait until your symptoms become overwhelming to get help. In fact, the earlier we meet, the more we can do to help you understand what’s changing, support you through it, and build a foundation for better health in the years ahead.

Whether you’re just starting to notice changes or want to know what to expect, we’re here to listen, answer your questions, and guide you every step of the way.

We think about menopause a little differently here. It’s not just a phase to get through—it’s an opportunity to invest in your future health, so you can stay healthy, strong, and active for years to come.

Hormone therapy can be life-changing for menopause, but it isn’t the whole story.

One of the things we encourage women to do is think beyond perimenopause and menopause. Once you’ve addressed the symptoms and you’re feeling more like yourself again, don’t stop there.

Ask yourself: What else can I do today that will help me stay healthy, strong, and independent 10, 20, or 30 years from now?

Maybe it’s continuing to ski, taking that walking trip you’ve always dreamed about, or getting down on the floor to play with your grandchildren. Whatever your goals are, the choices you make today can help make them possible.

HRT is an important piece of the puzzle. It can ease symptoms while supporting your bone, heart, and brain health. But healthy aging also means paying attention to your muscle mass, cardiovascular fitness, nutrition, sleep, and metabolic health.

Menopause is a transition, not the destination. Feeling better today is important, but so is preparing your body for the years ahead.
