H.R.1 continues to bring substantial changes to welfare and assistance programs in Oregon. This can impact current and future eligibility requirements across SNAP, OHP (Oregon Health Plan), and other departments. Many of these changes disproportionately impact our BIPOC communities already facing systemic barriers to health care, food access, and economic stability. If you are registered for any of these programs, we recommend verifying your status on a continuous basis.

We know these changes can be scary, we're in this together. 💛

Since we lost our brother and colleague Cayle Tern, so many of you have reached out asking how you can help.

Join us this Thursday from 6:00 to 8pm, we're gathering at CORE Food Carts in SE Portland for our monthly APANO Action Fund happy hour dedicated to honor Cayle's life and legacy. These happy hours were one of the many things that Cayle worked on during his time at APANO. He truly enjoyed every opportunity he had to connect with others.

You don't need to have known Cayle personally to belong here. If you're able to give to his family's fundraiser, we'd be grateful. If you can only show up and listen, that matters too.

We'd love it if you RSVP'd to our gathering so we can have a headcount: bit.ly/AFMay28HH 🕊️
