Tuesday, July 14 — COWG Monthly Meeting: The Madman, Architect, Carpenter & Judge

📝 This month's COWG meeting features Mike and Irene Cooper [Airlie Press alumn] presenting "Working with the Madman, Architect, Carpenter, and Judge to Write, Revise, and Polish your Manuscript."

This framework helps writers understand the different creative modes involved in producing a finished piece: the generative, the structural, the line-by-line, and the critical. If you've been stuck between drafting and revising, or not sure why your edits aren't working, this session will give you a new way to think about the whole process.

Mike and Irene Cooper are Bend-based writers and co-facilitators of the Blank Pages Writing Salon.

July has begun and our open reading period is now open!

Through July 31 Airlie Press is open to submissions of full-length manuscripts from poets who reside in the Pacific Northwest (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Alaska) who are willing and able to commit to a three-year term of doing the shared work of running a collective press. Entries are accepted via Submittable.

We are actively seeking collections from writers of color, trans and nonbinary writers, disabled writers, and others whose voices are underrepresented in literary publishing. As our membership changes continuously, we are open to a wide range of aesthetics in our publications.
