Our community partners at Bloodworks Northwest have decalred a CODE RED due to a less than one to two-day supply of critical blood types and platelets. Without immediate action, the situation could turn heartbreaking with a single incident.
It is especially dire during summer and what we refer to as the 100 deadliest days – the time between Memorial Day and Labor Day when donations go down but accidents and injuries go up.
Only about 3% of people donate blood. If just 1% more stepped up, we could ease shortages and stabilize the supply.
We urgently need as many donors as possible at our upcoming blood drive to ensure Pacific Northwest patients have immediate access to lifesaving transfusions for cancer treatment, trauma care, and childbirth complications.
If you’re feeling healthy, please consider taking one hour out of your day to give blood. Thank you for signing up to save lives in our community at an upcoming Providence St. Vincent monthly blood drive:
• Monday, June 22, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Monday, July 20, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

May is National Stroke Awareness month and our doctors want to remind you that time is brain.
If you see someone losing balance, struggling to speak, their face is drooping, their arms become weak or numb, or they’re having trouble seeing, do not wait – call for help immediately.
The faster our caregivers can treat a stroke, the better the outcome.
