Appreciation Post: we have so many incredible volunteers who invest hours of their time at Missio, often when no one else is watching. Today, we want to highlight and thank Suzie Bauer and Birch Rubens for sealing and staining our back fence!

We’re grateful for each one of you - we see you loving God and serving His church ❤️

These cooler mornings are a great reminder that a new season is just around the corner 🍂 We’re excited to kick off our fall rhythms in just a few weeks! We’ve planned a variety of connection events and training sessions for almost every ministry on our campus. At our Block Party on September 1, you can learn about all the ministry opportunities available at Missio and sign up to serve this fall.

More details will be coming your way in the next few weeks, but for now – save these dates and enjoy the last few weeks of summer! ☀️

We’re so grateful to get to announce a big answer to prayer: we have an Interim Pastor! Tim Osborn has committed to serve as Missio’s Interim Lead Pastor for the upcoming season. Tim brings a wealth of experience, having recently served as the Lead Pastor at Mosaic Church in NE Portland for the past 17 years, as well as leading the Portland Metro Network (PMN) of Alliance NW churches for many years.

Tim and his wife Abby have been married for 26 years and have three sons (ages 26, 23, and 17). Tim will be joining our Staff Team this Tuesday, July 23, to ensure a smooth leadership transition. We look forward to introducing him to you all in person this Sunday, July 28, during our Expression.

Visit our website (missiocommunity.org) to read the full update about Tim, how long he’ll be serving in this role, and how you can be praying as we continue the search for our next Lead Pastor.

Missio family, we’re inviting every adult to participate in the PEAK Profile survey, an anonymous survey designed to help churches expand to their fullest potential as envisioned by God. The survey assesses the development of the 9 Essential Elements for a thriving church, identifying key areas that need growth.

The survey is available now until Monday, June 17 and takes about 20 minutes to complete in one sitting. We greatly value and appreciate your input - thank you!

Just a reminder: we're not gathering at Missio today (Sunday, August 6) for our regular Sunday Expression. Instead, we invite you to join us this morning at 10:30am for Missio In The Park at Creston Park, Sites E & F (4454 SE Powell Blvd, Portland) for a fun-filled morning of laser tag, games & connecting with neighbors and one another! Bring a friend, picnic lunch, lawn chairs, and blankets - drinks and treats will be provided by Missio.

We can't wait to see you today at Creston Park!

Missio In The Park is an expression of our community rhythms - it's an intentional space for connection, growing in relationships, and having fun together! 🥳
