The Yakama Nation is located in Washington and is currently fighting a renewable energy development that could permanently destroy tribal cultural property. We think it is important to highlight the environmental impacts of green energy on indigenous communities. Renewable energy should have a positive impact on the environment and all communities. As climate technology advances in the Pacific Northwest we think it is important to advocate for underserved communities to be included in the progress.

We are thrilled to announce that NWX, Leaders Become Legends, and Constructing Hope have recently been awarded a Justice Oregon for Black Lives collaboration planning grant from Meyer Memorial Trust! This funding will support the creation of a center and the development of programs offering green-sector career pathways and business ownership programs to Black, Native American, and Hispanic Oregonians. Our collective goal is to establish a space for Black and BIPOC healing and economic advancement with a strong focus on individuals impacted by the criminal justice system.
