Looptworks enjoyed meeting so many leaders at the Textile Exchange conference last week and hosting a field trip to our textile recycling HQ in Portland, OR. The event included a tour of our soon-to-open facility and a discussion about the needs and state of the U.S. textile recycling industry. What’s clear is that this is just the beginning, and the need for options and expansion is coming fast and furiously down the pike.

We’ve arrived at our journey’s final, and arguably most essential stop: . We’re talking responsible disposal of textiles at designated spots or giving them to organizations who repurpose.

This way, we’re ensuring that our valuable resources are being put to use, not wasted in landfills.

Embracing these 5 R’s means reshaping our daily habits and changing the trajectory of our planet’s future. Let’s tackle this responsibility together and create lasting change!

Embrace the next steps in the 5 R's of our sustainable journey: Reuse and Repurpose!

By creatively rotating your wardrobe, participating in clothing swaps, or buying from second-hand stores, we foster a circular economy. Even better, get crafty by repurposing well-loved items into new, functional pieces - like a stylish pouch from a vintage scarf. It's all about giving a second life to the things we love.

It doesn’t stop with craft either - try on creative challenges like Project 333 by Be More with Less! Dress with 33 items or less, for 3 months - you could surprise yourself with the results!

Looptworks may be small, but our impact is big.

It’s our goal to close the loop in the textile industry. It’s not enough simply to buy used clothing or upcycle fabrics so we’re building circularity into our business model.

Help us hold the world accountable for textile waste.
