I’ve learned that being alone is not the worst thing that can happen to me. Settling is. Shrinking is. Pretending I don’t see red flags just to avoid loneliness is. I would rather sleep alone with a calm mind than lie next to someone who makes me question my worth.

Single doesn’t mean incomplete. It means I refuse to entertain confusion, secrecy, or half-hearted love. I’m not afraid of building my life by myself—I’m afraid of attaching myself to someone who brings instability into it. If love costs me my peace, it’s overpriced. I choose clarity. I choose respect.
