We want to take this opportunity to give a special shout out to our incredibly talented BassWitch Live Artist curator Rachel Rusenko (rachel.rusenko.com)

Rachel is a q***r and non-binary artist based in Portland, Oregon. Heavily influenced by their upbringing in Casablanca, Morocco, Rusenko’s imagery clashes tessellations resembling Islamic geometric patterns with organic and yielding forms found in nature. Their stream of consciousness, as depicted by their ink, projects a dreamlike quality which induces a trance-like submersion. They explore themes of gender and sexuality in their work. Their colorful linework abstractions are a study of femininity, intended to convey reverence and self-empowerment to all womb bearers.
