Every piece has a story, but this one came with a scene I’ll never forget.

I found this hand-carved duck at the estate of a man whose home was a tribute to his lifelong love of ducks. Duck artwork, duck collectibles, duck décor… everywhere you looked.

As his sons carefully cleared out the house, I waited while they brought treasures up from the basement one by one. At one point I casually offered to head down and help. They laughed and said it was borderline dangerous down there. So I stayed put, hoping this little guy would make an appearance… and eventually, he did.

It’s one of those finds that feels even more special because you know the life it came from. 🦆🤎

Good morning Portland! We are all set up and ready for you at the Oak Grove Festival. I’m right in front of Awakening Coffee Taphouse so stop by, grab a warm drink and say hello.

I love taking chances on the last day of estate sales. While the main house was packed with shoppers, I wandered down to the sprawling lower garage tucked beneath the home and found it nearly empty. Every treasure I brought home is covered in years of dust, but that’s part of the magic. I can’t wait to clean them up and give them a second chance to shine. I’m especially excited about the MCM ceiling light, which is likely staying with me to replace one b**b light in my home at a time.
