The NYC Study Abroad program led by theatre professor Rebecca Lingafelter is featured in the Lewis and Clark magazine.

Lewis & Clark’s NYC program is facilitated by the Office of Overseas and Off Campus Programs. While the program has run for decades, Lingafelter was tasked with the unique opportunity of revitalizing it post-pandemic. The program is currently slated to run every three years, and the opportunities it provides are rapidly evolving.

“Rebuilding the program after the pandemic was an opportunity to be really intentional,” says Lingafelter. “We asked what students need right now—not just academically, but professionally—and how New York City can support both of those goals in a meaningful way.”

Students ended up in internships with a variety of organizations, including Abrams Books, Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, LaMama Experimental Theatre Club, and the Bushwick Starr Theatre. Lingafelter plans to maintain and build such relationships for future cohorts.

As per tradition, Lewis & Clark's Natural History Club is gearing up for Moss Week 2026, which will take place the week of February 9 - 13! We are looking for your help setting the mossy mood on campus.

Once again, we are on the search for talented artists and poets to help create a design for our Moss Week stickers or poems about moss, which will be printed as bookmarks. Both will be given out during Moss Week at Watzek, and might even be featured in the admitted students’ welcome package! We are also offering a grand prize of $100. Please email us your submissions at [email protected] with the subject line “Sticker/Poem submission” (open to current LC students and alumni). The deadline for submission will be January 31st. We can’t wait to see what you’ve got!
