I made some mid-sized installation work for this last show and it was great to get to focus on all the details. This one was a math challenge, and I had to figure out how to “shrink” this rainbow gradient fabric without losing the gradient. I ended up gathering every couple of inches and condensing the fabric by about 50%. All hand-gathered (I put a paper template behind the rectangle and gathered until it was that length) and then cut, backed, and overstitched, then all gathering threads in the rainbow were removed. This piece was also a fun chance to mess around with some different yarn ties- my favorite subtle yarn tying is in the silver “third eye”, where I used a rainbow gradient to reference the rainbow above.
I Want To Change The Future As I Look Into Your Eyes, 2025. 12’ x 15’. Fabric, paracord, beads, sequins, fringe, trim, yarn, rhinestones, grommets.

This series kept me grounded throughout all the turmoil this year, and I’m really looking forward to expanding on it this summer during growing season! I’m planting indigo, cosmos, coreopsis, marigolds, and I’ve got another group of pansies coming through. I’ve never grown indigo before but getting good tips from so we will see how it turns out!!
Like The Moon, My Chest Was Full, 2025. 26” dia. Hand-printed coreopsis grown by artist, indigo dyed fabric, cyanotype, Oregon agate collected from Tunnel Beach, velvet, binding, paracord, armature wire, embroidery.
