Hi friends,

We've got some updates on our search for a new space, temporary closure, and our winter pivot (STARTING NEXT FRIDAY ๐Ÿ˜‹).

Meliora Pasta is temporarily closed while we search for a new space.

Although the pod owner is *still* telling us the property has a grace period beyond January for the new regulations, we were just notified by the Health Department that not one property in Multnomah County has an extension beyond the 3 years they've already had.

Over the past 3 weeks we've heard from dozens of pods/cart owners. Most expressed either not knowing about the new laws or being in a pod that won't be making any necessary changes to allow carts to stay.

Work has been done over the past few weeks with the Oregon Health Authority to find solutions for carts soon to be affected. They maintain that they don't want anyone to close. But more than 150 carts in the county will have to if they don't agree to an extension.

People have asked if they can help with the situation, and at this point we'd say consider hitting up the food carts you've been meaning to try this holiday season :)

Perhaps a lunch date at a pod is The holiday gift idea for 2022, no cap.

We know for a fact there are property owners making a decision on whether or not to upgrade their properties for the new rules. Some don't think it's worth it. Let's encourage them with our foot traffic.

Anyways, what if we brought back our tasting menu for a twice a week pop-up until we're able to move to a new cart space?

Winter Pop-Up Series at announcement tomorrow ๐Ÿฅ‚

[Oh and Jim can't run this one alone (said something about his mid-30s, planter fascists (sp?), it's-like-a-whole-restaurant-are-you-kidding...), so good thing will be full-time Meliora Pasta starting with these pop-ups ๐Ÿงก]

Hi friends,

We recently learned that our current location will be untenable for us come January 1st due to new regulations for food carts and pods this property will fail to be ready for.

This is a complicated, untimely surprise for us, and at this point we're unsure if we can make a 3rd location for our big little pasta cart happen (we started at Killingsworth but the property was sold a week after we signed a 6 month lease...). We're exploring all avenues to keep this going, including closing for a few months until we can invest in a new location; we intended to be on Alberta for as long as possible. We love this community.

Monday Nights at Meliora will be closed moving forward (including tonight). We will announce our schedule within the next 2 days for the week.

DM us for any reason ๐Ÿงก

Yours,
Jim and Breckin
