The response to our opening has underscored the magnitude of the need for housing that allows women in our city to successfully realize recovery.

Portland's Freedom Place to help women overcome addiction, homelessness With Maine drug overdose deaths on the rise during the COVID-19 pandemic, there is new hope for women dealing with addiction and entering recovery.

We are grateful for all of the press coverage of our Opening Ceremony.

'Freedom Place' will house 38 women facing substance abuse, domestic violence & homelessness The building on State Street in Portland will also provide job training and recovery services to residents.

Today we commemorate our opening with a small ceremony. Going forward we plan to celebrate many successes to come!

Portland developer’s change of plan opens doors for women who are homeless or in recovery The housing complex is called Freedom Place, a name with two meanings, one of them quite personal to Kevin Bunker’s family.
