One pantry.. two pantry.. three pantry.. FOUR!

Until I was able to attack the pantry after the move, it was more survival mode.

Again with the steps:
1: Assess
2: Pull everything out of the space.
3: Put grouped items back in the pantry to see how much room each group takes up. I.e. Baking, breakfast, pastas, beans, snacks, etc.
4: Make it work. Ask what do you go to the most? What do you want available for little hands to get to? …
5: Voila! A tailored pantry suited for your family🙌

Got a few things left to do with this pantry. Also made sure to leave room and a few organizing tools for future items. 😉

What became a quick search..
Garages can become a catch all. Sometimes locating swim floaters can entail moving quite a few things out of the garage before you can reach them. 🤦‍♀️

But once you do.. try having a plan when putting back all that partial junk.

Did that this morning to my garage.

When I was done I turned around and thought, “it’s not perfection, but it’s definitely better.”

It’s about the better, not perfection. If your striving for perfection with an ever revolving door of “stuff” for your kids.. you will be striving for a long time.

Move-in paint job in the works.

Goodbye yellow trim and green walls😵

Hello calm.

You can take that deep breath now. 💫💫

Tween rooms are all about expressing themselves. I’m always a little hesitant going into their room knowing what angst may be brewing in their minds. After all, “who is this lady coming into my room!?”

So, before every kiddo project I enter, not just for documentation sake, I do my best to take detailed before and afters of their room as to not loose their unique self in my decluttering. Carefully taking every sticker off the wall. Taking down every poster that seems to be glued to the wall, and wiping the vanity off while leaving a bit of their art still there. For this vanity, I told her I was only wiping it to give her a new canvas. She seemed to muster up a slight smile and giggle after that one. I hope when she sees all her stickers still useable, a new cork board for her tiny Polaroids (and hopefully stickers😛), the Christmas lights that were once strung on her wall, wrapped nicely in the storage tower by her door, waiting for her own decorating touches, she’ll feel a little less invaded. 🤞

And maybe, just maybe, feeling FREE to BE creative in a room that’s made just for her❤️ Not that she lacks any creativity.

For parents who are working hard to provide the best life for their kids and choose not to spend their minutes arguing with their children about cleaning their space.. I commend you. Truly. My son thinks the only reason I walk into his room is to tell him to do this or that with it.
So you see.. two sides to this battle. You choose.

To this badass Mom and her sweet tween daughter, I’ve got your back.
