🌱 Invasive Species Awareness Week — What Every Tree Owner in Portage Should Know 🌲
From emerald ash borer killing ash trees to spotted lanternflies harming woody plants, several invasive pests and diseases are threatening local trees. Some spread by insects boring under tree bark, others by fungi or sap-feeding bugs — and they all weaken tree health if we don’t act.
👉 Keep an eye out for unusual leaf loss, sticky residue on bark (honeydew), and thinning crowns. Early detection makes a big difference!
