Forward Bound Celebrations

So many of my younger years I spent doubting myself. I made it a habit without meaning to. I remember this weird feeling when I would go watch male sports when I was little and the stands would be full. Then when my own teams played or I would watch a female event - it would only be parents watching. It wasn’t a good feeling. It was hard not to feel second rate when that’s how we’ve been treated… and that’s not exclusive to sports. No one should ever feel dismissed. No one should ever feel less than. You deserve to be heard. You deserve to take up space. You deserve to fight for what you need. You deserve peace and the space to create it. Women are so smart. I know so many brilliant, strong, amazing women who have no idea how capable they are. It’s terrible because the world really needs all of them. The world really needs their voices. Renee Good was one of those women. They took her voice in the most inhumane way. Let that all be even more reason for your voice to get louder. Women apologizing for taking up space is something that has to end in our generation. If you have daughters who argue with you - well done! Trust me, I understand how exhausting that can be, but the world needs that kind of fire.
