I haven’t been posting much in the last couple of weeks. But as I’m up wayyyyyy too late, wrapping 2 orders that I want to send out in the morning before work, I’ve been reflecting on what’s been going on over this last couple of weeks.
So much good has been happening honestly, but like most people I am going through imposter syndrome.
I got accepted into some affiliate marketing programs that can be a big deal for my business. And I’m excited and scared all at the same time. I don’t know what I’m doing with it but I’ll figure that all out eventually. I literally have one thing on my Etsy shop, and I’m getting sales even though I’m not advertising myself at all. I’m also getting sales just based of posting pictures of things I’m working on for other projects. I’m so grateful because things are moving in the right direction. If I keep this up, my holiday season can be amazing this year for my business, yet I’m so overwhelmed with everything possible emotion you can have running a small business.
Anyone else going through this or ever gone through this with a small business?

Bought this in March and still have not used it. I’m almost nervous to use this but I’m gonna face my fear of the big bad serger machine. Lol.
Any tips for me on the serger? I’m really hoping I fall in love with it.

I’ve been wanting to do something with this Stranger things fabric I got a long time ago with waffles because since El’s favorite thing to eat was egos. It was hard finding waffle fabric. I finally found some. Waffles are a tad bigger than I had hoped they would be but I think they still work.

What you look like giving your bestie a sewing lesson at almost 2 am and you’re both losing your minds because you’ve been up all day and had to parent and work. Lol
Let’s say she has giving me a ton of names because she scares me using a rotary cutter.
Running on lots of laughs and Banana Pudding Puppy Chow!
I’m proud of her for a first time sewing. She made a notebook pen holder. Not bad for her first project. She is working on number two then I’m heading home. lol!🤪

Finally figured out how to print directly on 💯 cotton fabric from my inkjet printer! I love these labels way better than when I used the fabric transfer paper. I was so worried the transfer paper would crack over time. Now I need to test out want I want to put on the back to prevent them from fraying. I’m thinking light weight interfacing or Pellon 805 wonder under? Anyone make their own labels and have suggestions? I always was testing out the white verse the tan fabric.
Once I figure it out I’ll share my process.

This week’s batching is Quilted Zipper Pouches with Wristlets. I have a goal every week to work on bulk prep and sewing, but it doesn’t always happen. I’m getting much better at it though. Last week I didn’t bulk prep anything. Sometimes running a small business is so overwhelming but it’s satisfying at the same-time.
Does anyone else bulk make items on a weekly basis? How do you all do it? I se some businesses that I follow who aim for 100 items a week but they are more established businesses.

One of my favorite ways to add value to any of my handmade items is to think beyond the item itself!
A bowl cozy is such an amazing gift on its own right. However, when you pair it with a pretty bowl, self-care, goodies, snack, snacks, and top it off with a beautiful bow. It becomes a complete gift set that feels extra special to anyone who would receive it.
My love language has always been give people thoughtful items and gifts that make their day.
Does anyone else take their hand zone items and turn them into beautiful gift sets or baskets?
It’s definitely a game changer in my opinion never be afraid to think outside the box.

I’ve been afraid to do labels for some darn reason and tonight I figured it’s time to just freaking do it!!! I think they came out okay for a first try. It’s late and the lighting is not the best, but I just had to share.
Do you make your own labels ?
