Blue Mountain Wolves Sanctuary

Beautiful Kefyra and Jeddak soaking in the Olympic Mountain vibes up here at the sanctuary. We are very fortunate to reside amongst such natural beauty. It’s a very calm place up here, and so many comment on the quietness of the sanctuary grounds when they are visiting. Because we are in the mountains and nearly back up to a million acres of untouched nature (Olympic National Park) all you hear up here is the wind in the trees, the birds singing and the wolfdogs howling. It’s a place untouched by noise pollution. 🌲 🏔️ 🐺

Aponi (black phase wolfdog) and Julian (English Mastiff) are lovingly referred to by us as “the odd couple!” 😂 We introduced Aponi to Julian when he was around 12 weeks old, and she instantly fell in love with him and he with her. It’s like they both immediately decided that they were meant to be. It’s to the point where we had to build an 8’ x 8’ x 8’ fully insulated dog house for Julian to sleep in on colder nights because he wouldn’t stop pacing in our house if we brought him in with us. Aponi would also howl all night for him. We still bring him into the main house on really cold nights, but when we do, we also have to bring Aponi up to the courtyard, so they can see each other through our entry window. 😂

Handsome boy McGee looking so strikingly intense on this snowy day! In reality, he’s a bit of a goofball. McGee is paired with Peanut aka Cash and is so deeply bonded with her. It’s rare to see him more than 15 - 20 feet away from her. He’s normally glued to her side. It’s a beautiful bond to witness.
