Pass It On

Devotional:
Discipleship is not just about receiving. It is about passing on what you have been given.

Paul wrote to the church in Corinth with a bold invitation: imitate me as I imitate Christ. That is not arrogance. That is discipleship in its purest form. He was saying, watch how I follow Jesus, and then do the same. And then show someone else how to do it too.

This is how the mission moves forward. Not through programs alone, but through people who are willing to be known, to be honest about their own journey, and to invite others into it.

You do not need a theology degree to disciple someone. You need a willingness to be present and a commitment to keep following Jesus yourself. The person you mentor does not need you to be perfect. They need you to be real and one step ahead.

Think about who has poured into your life. Someone took time for you. Someone answered your questions, prayed with you, and believed in you before you believed in yourself. Now it is your turn to do that for someone else.

The church exists for the world, and you are part of how God reaches it. You carry something worth passing on. Do not keep it to yourself.

Bible Verse:
"And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ." - 1 Corinthians 11:1 (New Living Translation (NLT))

Reflection Question:
Thinking about someone who has meaningfully invested in your faith journey, what is one specific thing they did for you that you could now intentionally do for someone else?

Quote:
"Every believer should be able to answer these two questions: Who is pouring into me and who am I pouring into?"

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for the people You have placed in my life to help me grow. Help me to be that person for someone else, and give me the humility and courage to pass on what I have received. Amen.

You Are Sent

Devotional:
There is a word in Matthew 28 that changes everything: therefore. It is a small word, but it carries enormous weight. Because Jesus has all authority, therefore we go. His authority is the foundation of our confidence.

This commission was not handed to a select group of pastors or missionaries. It was spoken to a group of ordinary people who had simply followed Jesus. And it belongs to you just as much as it belonged to them.

You may have told yourself that evangelism is not your gift, or that missions trips are for someone else. But the call to go is not optional, and it is not reserved for a specific personality type. It is for every believer, in every season, in every place.

Being sent does not always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like a text message to a friend who has been on your mind. Sometimes it looks like staying a few extra minutes after a conversation to really listen. Sometimes it looks like inviting someone to church who you have been meaning to invite for months.

You are not waiting to be sent. You already have been. Go with confidence, because the One who sent you has all authority in heaven and on earth, and He is with you every step of the way.

Bible Verse:
"As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you." - John 20:21 (New Living Translation (NLT))

Reflection Question:
What is one specific person or situation where you have been hesitating to step in, and what would it look like to trust that God has already sent you there?

Quote:
"He didn’t say, hey, sit. Go to church for 40 years and just sit. He didn’t call us to sit. He called us to go."

Prayer:
Father, remind me today that I am already sent. Give me boldness to act on the promptings You place in my heart, and help me to go with confidence because You are with me. Amen.
