Team Work! Tagging our first ever Cubera Snapper didn’t come easy.

Two Strike 35’s filled with the crews at Crocodile Bay , a number of roosterfish tagged with GFR tags and at the last hour our candidate was identified. After a boat to boat transfer the microPAT satellite tag was deployed.

Gray Fishtag Research is still totally committed to the ongoing efforts of the Northeast Striped Bass Study with the continued deployment of Satellite tags working with our dedicated sponsors and faithful tagging partners. Deploying over 2000 spaghetti tags throughout the year aids in adding to our ever growing database of travel patterns and migration patterns. GFR staffer Brian Miller started off the new year fishing with Captain Mike Gardner of Eastern Shore Light Tackle Charters. Tagging the first Striped Bass of 2026.
