Did you know that there are more than 2,000 species of cacti? They have a huge diversity when it comes to shape and form. For example, the Caldera cacti can grow to 66 feet tall, while the Rebutia cacti from Bolivia and Argentina are just several centimeters high.
Generally, pruning is not recommended in the fall and should be performed instead in the spring. This is because pruning can stimulate new growth, which is bad for plants that should be moving toward dormancy in preparation for the cold winter months.
To help your newly transplanted seedling settle in, fertilize it using a quality seaweed fertilizer. Indeed, kelp (seaweed) based fertilizers are known for being extremely high in micronutrients and will ensure healthy root formation and plant growth.
