Well... apparently Colorado called, and one of our favorite humans actually answered. 🏔️💚 We tried everything we could think of to convince her to stay, but apparently "unlimited puppy kisses" couldn't compete with mountains.
While we're incredibly sad to see our amazing surgery technician begin her next adventure, we couldn't be more excited for her. She has been such an important part of the Wild Things family, and Colorado is gaining one phenomenal technician. We know she's going to do amazing things!
Now comes the hard part... finding someone to fill those shoes.
🐾 Wild Things Animal Hospital is hiring an EXPERIENCED Veterinary Surgery Technician/Assistant!
We're looking for someone with at least one year of veterinary clinic experience, with confidence in surgery, anesthesia monitoring, catheter placement, patient care, and working as part of an exceptional team. If you love practicing high-quality medicine, enjoy a fun, supportive workplace, and want to work with dogs, cats, and even exotics, we'd love to meet you!

🎀 Stanley would like everyone to know that while grapes may be a healthy snack for humans, they are a very bad life choice for dogs. 🍇🤮
After helping himself to a grape, Stanley stopped by for a little "return to sender" service. Since he has those handsome floppy ears, we tied them back with a bow to keep them out of the way during his vomiting appointment. We have to admit... he pulled the look off pretty well. ✨🎀
One of the interesting (and frustrating) things about veterinary medicine is that grapes are one of the mystery foods. We know they can be toxic to dogs, but we don't always know which dog will be affected or how severely.
We've seen dogs eat a single grape and develop acute kidney failure. We've also heard stories of dogs eating an entire bunch and have no problems at all.
The problem is that we don't know which dog will be which.
That's why we take grape ingestion seriously and often recommend inducing vomiting if it was recently eaten.
Thankfully, Stanley's family acted quickly, and we were able to help him return his grape and put it in the trash. 🍇📦
The good news? Stanley threw up in style and has been spending the day with us on fluids and monitoring.
The moral of the story: When it comes to grapes, don't wait and don't gamble. If your dog eats one, give your veterinarian a call. Better safe than sorry. 🐾💜
