Sonnax hi capacity drum snapring ⚠️ with non ferrous shell and why

For all you AOD lovers out there. You have probably noticed (or should have) that the valve body gaskets are horrible. I have mentioned numerous places on the web for 10+ years easy. See the image below as a perfect example of how a VB install can make your life so hard. Do yourself a favor, center the gasket, open the gasket holes where needed, and glue that SOB in place with some thick grease or stickum. There are some very critical holes being covered here. Partial cover is one thing, but to blind them, that will cause some serious headaches.
If you want to dive deeper into this issue, look no further, let me sum it up. There was only two toolings ever made for the AOD gaskets. Ford and Transtec. WHere Ford tooling went, IDK, where Transtec tooling went was FNST. Tt sold the tooling no longer making money with it. FNST makes 100% of all the AOD valve body gaskets since then. They only have access to crap gasket paper as a lower quality / mass production aftermarket company. There is no money in gaskets, so, makes sense. So that is the short story. Any gasket labeled with a FORD PN or the words TRANSTEC on it, are king of all gaskets and fit properly. WHY is that...because they are made from proprietary paper composition and post die cut treatment to seal them from moisture so they do not expand. FNST does not have access to this good paper or treatment.
Thanks
Bye
P.S., yes you will see the gasket below was poorly placed to begin with, but that is how things go when you are working above your head below a shower of red. S**t happens.
