Framed and ready for its new home. I’m excited about this new series, “From my yard.”

Choosing colors that shouldn’t be, is very interesting. And, using a lot of the same color to show different depths is very fun.

I am intrigued by the idea of portals. I find there are connections between gates and doors as mentioned in Scripture.

There’s so much more to see when your eyes are open and full of light.

I started off with the cat. He’s a ceramic statue in my makeshift flower bed between my lemon tree which does well and my blueberry which has struggled hitherto (though I have high hopes for it).

He’s not the center of my yard but he’s the center of the painting. From there I added one of the pine trees, a blackberry, a plumeria that looks like a random stick at the moment. A bucket and then a rose bush.

All in abnormal colors.

I’ve wondered, for a while, what it would be like to paint a landscape with the “wrong” colors.

I can tell you, it’s difficult. Things don’t look right when their colors are “wrong.”

Life doesn’t look right when our lenses are wrong.

Perspective is everything.

“Inside my brain.” & “Making it make sense.”

Painted both of these this morning.

Life is quite tumultuous.

Jesus is the calm in the storm.

To Him I cling.

“Devastated Praise”

That place where literally everything in life is going the wrong direction and you praise anyway.

You choose to worship and adore because He is worthy no matter what life looks like.

Why?

Because we don’t walk by sight. We walk by faith. It is the currency.

The ouches are numerous but the healing is guaranteed.

He is faithful.

I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart. I will show forth all thy marvelous works!

That’s from Psalm 9. And today I’m focused on parts of Psalm 100.

Jesus is King! May He be glorified in me.
