Nothing Is Normal in Iran

Nothing in Iran is “normal” right now—forty days after a massacre. The country is experiencing sustained unrest, deep economic distress, and an atmosphere of fear that touches the daily life of virtually every family. The regime’s response has included sweeping arrests, heavy force in the streets, and aggressive information control—so much so that even basic verification of events can become difficult as intimidation and shutdowns create a fog of uncertainty.
