For those who have seen behind the curtain of war, please forgive our ignorance. We thank you for our freedom that cost you yours. When you enlisted, someone else determined where you’d live, what you’d wear, when you’d sleep, what you’d do, and where you’d go.
To those who lost family members to war. We remember them today, but we appreciate them everyday we walk in the freedom they gave their lives for. We are here for you.
It’s been said only two people have willingly died for us;
Jesus for our salvation, and the soldier for our freedom.
We enlist to the first, and give thanks to the second.
May our lives be marked by gratitude for freedom. May we never take it for granted or may we lose it forever.
Father, thank You for soldiers who give up their comforts so that we might enjoy ours. Please protect those who serve oversees. Please bring and maintain peace in our land. Please bless the children who miss their mommies and daddies. Please comfort those who mourn. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
