Mineo's Pizza House vs. Aiello's Pizza: A Pittsburgh Pizza Parlor Showdown 10/17/2017

Oops I did it again! Accidentally reviewed some pizza in Pittsburgh.

Mineo's Pizza House vs. Aiello's Pizza: A Pittsburgh Pizza Parlor Showdown What's good, internet. Remember when I used to review pizza? Well I'm doing it again, perhaps just this once. Back in the saddle. Lemme give you some context: Two years ago, a few months after my popular and charming NYC memoir was released, I moved away from Queens, NY, my ancestral homela

ATX Pizza Report: Li'l Nonna's truck at Buzzmill on Riverside is officially Slice Harvester approved. Crust is delicious, crisps nicely with plenty of yield. Sauce tastes fantastic. Can't comment on the quality of the dairy cheese because I got a pie to split with Becca and she's a flagrant vegan, but that leads me to my next point which is that this is the only good vegan cheese I've ever had on a pizza in my entire life. (Admittedly I haven't had much, but I still think it's notable.) This truck is all vegetarian and we got a pie with their house made seitan sausage (real good), beeteroni (pepperoni made from beets—Becca loves it, I'm ambivalent), spinach, and olives. Very promising, can't wait to eat it again. Stoked to try the dairy cheese and some of their other pies.

HELLO! I added a WAGE GAP ADJUSTMENT to the pricing in the Slice Harvester Store so that women will be 3/4 what men pay to reflect the wage gap in America. Inspired by Osa of Shotgun Seamstress zine selling her pottery at a store with a similar policy. I'll post a link in the comments because that news story is v inspirational.

Digging through old issues of Mother's News last night looking for batmans and I unearthed these old Jacob-designed Slice Harvester advertisements. Feel very lucky to have been involved in the legacy of MN even in the most peripheral way.

You can still buy all the available back issues in one bundle and you should. Well worth the $40. http://lilchamp.storenvy.com/products/14495847-all-back-issues-of-mothers-news-currently-available
