🌾✨ Join us for the 2nd Annual Multicultural Pongal Sangamam – a Fulbright Cultural Mixer!

Welcoming spring and celebrating the harvest are traditions shared across cultures. Inspired by the indigenous Tamil harvest festival Pongal, this gathering brings together global traditions of gratitude and abundance. Sangamam means “coming together,” reflecting the spirit of this celebration that brings people from many backgrounds together.

Fulbright alumni and scholars, university students, and the Pittsburgh community will share an evening of storytelling, food, music, art, and community.

Dear Fulbright community member,

We are delighted to invite you and your family to a special Holiday Tour of the Nationality Rooms at the University of Pittsburgh, organized exclusively for Fulbright program alumni and current Fulbright students and scholars. This unique event offers a chance to celebrate the season and explore the Nationality Rooms beautifully decorated for the holidays.

EVENT DETAILS:

Date: Monday, December 15th
Time: 2:00 - 3:30 PM
Location: Cathedral of Learning, University of Pittsburgh

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS:
A 60 minute guided tour led by Michael, the Coordinator of the Nationality Rooms. He’ll provide unique insights into the holiday-themed rooms, including the recently updated Korean Room.
The cost of the tour is waived for our group, courtesy of Kati Csoman, Director of the Nationality Rooms and a Fulbright Administration alum.
This is a family-friendly event. You’re welcome to bring family members, but please register them as part of your RSVP.

POST-TOUR GATHERING:

After the tour, we’ll gather in the historic Braun Room, where you can enjoy refreshments and conversation with Kati.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

The tour is limited to 20 participants, including family members. Additional sign-ups will be placed on a waitlist.
